Barry Max Levy, QKA is a Pension Consultant and President of Levy & Associates. A graduate of the University of Maryland, he has been a guest on financial talk radio and a featured speaker on qualified retirement plans. He has been recognized in federal and state court as an expert in the area of qualified retirement plans. He joined the predecessor organization, Leo Levy & Associates, in 1989. In 2003 Mr. Levy was elected to serve on ASPPA’s (American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries) Board of Directors and in 2004 was elected to serve a full 3 year term. He is currently ASPPA’s Co-Chair of Conferences for 2009. Mr. Levy has served on ASPPA’s Government Affairs Executive Committee (GAC), the ASPPA Management Team (AMT), and has held other leadership positions. Locally he is President of the ASPPA Benefits Council of South Florida (ABC South Florida).
INGRID J. FILS, QPA
Ingrid J. Fils, QPA, is a Pension Consultant with over eleven years of experience in pension consulting and administration. She joined Levy & Associates after a fourteen year career in senior management with federal savings bank and as a corporate consultant specializing in retail banking and operations analysis. She is a graduate of Ohio State University, having majored in International Business. The American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries awarded Ms. Fils the professional designation of Qualified Pension Administrator (QPA). She currently serves on the Board of Directors for City County Credit Union of Ft. Lauderdale and is a board member and treasurer of the ASPPA Benefits Council of South Florida. Ms. Fils is responsible for client services, record keeping and administrative reporting for defined contribution plans.
NICHOLA HARGROVE, QKA
Nichola Hargrove is a Pension Consultant with seven years experience in pension consulting and administration. She has experience with small and large defined contribution plans including those of PEOs (Professional Employer Organizations) and leasing companies. She graduated from Faulkner State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business. Ms. Hargrove is a Family Ministry and Counseling Leader and a non-producing active member of Security Traders Association of Florida (STAF). Ms. Hargrove joined Levy & Associates in 2005 where her responsibilities include client services, recordkeeping, trust accounting and administrative reporting for defined contribution plans.
KIM E. HEISTAND
Kim E. Heistand is the
Document Specialist for Levy & Associates with over seventeen years experience
with qualified retirement plans. She graduated from Ohio State University with a B.A. in International
Business. Ms. Heistand started her Pension career in 1982 as a Pension
Administrative trainee at the Coral
Gables office of Watson Wyatt, a global pension
benefits consulting firm. When she left Watson Wyatt, she was in charge of the
team responsible for all distribution calculations and government filings, as
well as responsible for the Defined Benefit pension administration of over 20
clients. Ms. Heistand joined Levy & Associates in 2002, where her duties
have included trust accounting, plan document preparation, IRS compliance and
review, and coordination of the plan termination process
DANNY R. HERNANDEZ, QKA
Danny Hernandez, QKA is a Pension Consultant with four years experience in pension consulting and administration. He has experience with small and large defined contribution plans including those of PEOs (Professional Employer Organizations). He graduated from Nova Southeastern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. Mr. Hernandez joined Levy & Associates in 2008 where his duties include client services, recordkeeping, trust accounting, and administrative reporting for defined contribution plans.
DAWN M. MARLAR, QPA, QKA
Dawn M. Marlar, QPA, QKA has twenty three years experience in the employee benefits field. She started her career with QPS, Inc., a third-party administration firm and MassMutual office. Ms. Marlar joined Levy & Associates in 2000 when it purchased QPS. She graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachlor Science degree from the University of Florida. Ms. Marlar’s duties include proposals, client services, record keeping,trust accounting, and administrative reporting for defined contribution plans and defined benefit plans.
SHELLEY NARIO, QKA
Shelley Nario, QKA is a Pension Consultant with nine years of experience in the pension industry. She has experience with small and large defined contribution plans including daily valuation platforms. Shelley was awarded the Qualified 401(k) Administrator (QKA) credential from the American Society of Pension Professionals & Actuaries in January of 2009. She is currently attending Miami Dade College working toward a degree in Business Administration. She joined Levy & Associates in 2006 where her responsibilities include client services recordkeeping, trust accounting and administrative reporting for defined contribution plans.
